FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist men's soccer team won its seventh consecutive match on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Huntingdon Hawks, 4-0, at the Monarch Soccer Stadium.

Prior to the match, the Monarchs celebrated the careers of their five seniors,
Alec Baulch,
Rodrigo Diaz,
Ben Gold,
Gabe Gooch and
Eirik Nordseth.

The Monarchs' (10-4-3, 7-0-2 USAS) offense shone once again, outshooting Huntingdon (3-10-3, 2-5-2 USAS) 21-4 with 13 shots on frame to their one.

Seth Harrison put the Monarchs up 1-0 in the 19th minute, finding the back of the net after taking a feed from
Fredrik Aalberg at the top of the box. This would serve as the only goal of the first half.

After the break,
Tyler Gioielli pushed the Green and Gold to a 2-0 lead in the 54th minute, heading a corner kick by Gustav Fink-Jensen in. A minute later, Aalberg registered his own tally of the afternoon, assisted by
Trevor Hendricks, for a 3-0 Monarch lead.

Gold capped the day's scoring in the 64th minute, netting a free-kick goal from 20 yards out, giving MU a winning score of 4-0.

Alex Rabone picked up the win for Methodist after 90:00 in goal, making one save. Alex Brown was handed the loss for the Hawks, also seeing all 90:00, and making nine saves.

MU will conclude its regular season on Wednesday, hosting the Ferrum Panthers at 3:00 pm.
