DEMOREST, Ga. -- The Monarch men's soccer team emerged victorious on Friday night, besting the host Piedmont Lions, 1-0.

Methodist (5-4-3, 2-0-2 USAS) recorded the lone goal of the match late in the second frame, as
Dylan Thomas record his second goal in as many matches, assisted by
Tyler Ursuy, for the MU 1-0 win.

Despite the low score, the Green and Gold overpowered the Lions (3-6-3, 2-3-1 USAS) offensively, outshooting the host 20-3, including a 7-0 edge in shots on frame.

Alex Rabone was awarded the win for Methodist after the full 90 minutes in goal, and was not pressured to make any saves. Piedmont's starting goalkeeper, Kenneth Hearn, was saddled with the loss despite making six saves in his 90 minutes in goal.

Methodist is back in action on Saturday as it travels to Lookout Mountain, Ga. to face off against conference foe Covenant College at 7:00 pm.
