SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Methodist men's soccer team picked up a 5-0 victory on Sunday afternoon over Sewanee College.

With the win, the Monarchs improve to 3-4-2 on the overall season while Sewanee falls to 2-4-1

For a 1-0 Methodist lead,
Fredrik Aalberg tallied his first goal of the match in the 22nd minute, assisted by
Seth Harrison. The rookie registered his second goal 11 minutes later, this time off a feed from
Haakan Wahlstrom, to push the Monarchs to a 2-0 advantage.

To cap the scoring in the first frame,
Tyler Ursuy capitalized on a feed from
Rodrigo Diaz in the 35th minute, and the Monarchs grew their lead to 3-0.

Harrison logged his second assist of the match in the 52nd minute, this time assisting
Trevor Hendricks, to go ahead 4-0 before scoring his own goal, unassisted, in the 66th minute for a 5-0 Methodist advantage and eventual victory.

On the day, MU's offense outworked Sewanee's, outshooting the Tigers 14-7 with nine on frame to SC's three.
Alex Rabone walked away with the win after making three saves in all 90 minutes. Sewanee's starting goalkeeper, Will Merriman, takes the loss after making three saves and allowing five goals in 80:15 before being replaced by Robert Scott, who played the last 9:45 and made one save.

The Monarchs will return to home pitch next Sunday as they host Greensboro at 3:00 pm.
