FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to William Peace at the Monarch Soccerplex on Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 5-5-1 on the year behind a 3-2 conference record. Meanwhile, the Pacers improve to 5-6-2 overall with a 1-5-1 league mark.

William Peace notched the only goal of the game at the 15:15 mark after Chris Deleon took a long ball from Christian Ortiz and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper, 1-0.

The Monarchs were not able to find the back of the net in either half despite collecting eight shots in the first period and finished with 21 shots.
Fredrik Aalberg led with five shots, while
Austin Lang recorded four.

Junior goalkeeper
Jonathan Moore (5-3-1) received the loss after posting two saves. Ortiz (5-6-2) tallied 10 saves in all 90 miutes and posted the shutout.

Methodist held a 21-6 edge in shots, while William Peace had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Monarchs return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8, as they travel to face N.C. Wesleyan at 2 pm.
