DANVILLE, Va. – The Methodist women's tennis team continued its winning ways on Tuesday afternoon, picking up its twelfth consecutive victory with a 7-2 win over host Averett University.
The Monarchs pushed their overall record to 12-2 and remains undefeated in conference play, 7-0.
In doubles play, the Monarchs went ahead, 2-1, after grabbing two 8-0 wins at the No. 2 and 3 lines.
In singles,
Sam Munze picked up a win over Mattson, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 and at No. 3,
Jenna Landis blanked Olivi Scott, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4,
Ashton Walker topped Jessie Gomes, 6-1, 6-0, and
Davi Barbour bested Angelica Orlikowski, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. In the No. 6 line,
Riley Zopp won, 6-1, 6-1, over Jordyn Minton.
Methodist will take on host LaGrange College on Satruday beginning at 11:00 am.
