FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist men's lacrosse team set a program record with 24 goals in a 24-4 win over Concordia University-Chicago on Tuesday afternoon at Monarch Stadium.

The Monarchs (3-4) saw 16 different players score at least one goal, led by a hat trick from
Trevor Dickinson. Michael Roberston added two goals and three assists, and
Ben Click,
Sean Mayefskie,
AJ Mejia and
Michael Bradley all added two goals and one assist.

Methodist dominated from the outset, taking a 5-0 lead before the Cougars (0-3) dented the scoreboard. MU won 23-of-32 faceoffs, including
Jordan DeSalvo, who won 12-of-13, as Concordia was unable to sustain possession.

Methodist stretched out its lead to 10-1 on
Jake Smerka's goal at the 9:23 mark of the second quarter before the Cougars got their second goal of the contest, an unassisted tally from Cal Crawford, which made it 10-2 with 7:24 left in the first half. MU closed the opening 30 minutes with six more goals to take a 16-2 lead at the break.

Crawford opened the scoring to begin the third quarter, but eight more goals from the Green and Gold made it 24-3 with 4:49 to play on
Jake Prather's first career goal. Crawford capped the scoring with an unassisted tally in the last minute to account for the final score.

Methodist launched 67 shots to Concordia's 13, and held the Cougars to just 7-of-20 clearing the ball, while converting all 14 of its attempts. The Green and Gold also held a 49-15 advantage in ground balls.

Jackson Bingham started in goal for MU and picked up the win. He allowed two goals and made one save in 23:18.
Griffen Glover played 18:23 in the cage, and
Liam Von Hoene and
Andrew Chinigo logged 8:23, and 9:56 respectively.

DeSalvo led MU with eight ground balls, and Mejia had five.
Kyle Peacock led the way with three caused turnovers.

For Concordia, Crawford scored three goals. Adam Ortiz and Jonathan Daniels each had three ground balls. Noah Bachofen took the loss in the cage, playing all 60:00 and making 19 saves on the day.
