HUNTINGDON, Ala. – The Methodist women's tennis team continued its dominance in the USA South conference cruising to a 9-0 win over Huntingdon College on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs are now 14-2 on the overall season and 9-0 in league play.
Isabella Graf and
Sam Munze got the scoring started at the No. 1 doubles position, picking up an 8-0 win over Zoya Robinson and Cardine McBroom before
Jenna Landis and
Han Le topped Heather Tabor and Emily Waters, 8-2, at No. 2.
Davi Barbour and
Riley Zopp grabbed the final doubles point for Methodist at No. 3, earning an 8-4 victory over Josie Waddell and Octavia Pendleton.
In singles play, Graf blanked Robinson at No. 1 before
Ashton Walker clinched the match for the Green and Gold at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over McBroom. At No. 3, Landis bested Tabor, 6-1, 6-0 and Munze edged Waddell 6-0, 7-5 at No. 2. At No. 5, Barbour beat Pendleton, 6-0, 6-1, before Zopp defeated Waters at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.
Methodist will travel to Rocky Mount, N.C. to take on USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan on Apr. 6 at 2:00 pm.
