MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Methodist split a pair of volleyball matches on Saturday afternoon at Maryville College, falling to the host Scots, 3-0, and sweeping Wesleyan, 3-0.

The Monarchs (6-11, 2-2 USA South) fell to the Scots (7-8, 2-1) 25-20, 25-15, 25-9 before bouncing back with a 25-2, 25-20, 25-17 win over the Wolves (0-8, 0-3).

In the loss to the Scots,
Maggie Harris led MU with 21 assists and added five digs.
Brittany Ter Meer led the offense with eight kills, and
Chyenne Pump totaled six as Maryville limited the Monarchs to just a .020 hitting percentage.
Autumn Elder led the Green and Gold with 11 digs.

The Scots got 11 kills from Julia Vineyard, and Nia Haller added 10 kills and 14 digs. Saidee McDaniel had 27 assists and 12 digs for MC.

In the dominant win over the Wolves, MU raced out to a 12-2 lead in the first set before
Annabelle Ronelli served out the final 13 points of the set. This on the heels of last week's performance when
Cassidy Hayes served 23 consecutive points in a win over Medgar Evers. Hayes added 14 kills with a .650 hitting percentage, and Ter Meer added 10 kills and hit .500. As a team, MU hit .515 and notched 15 service aces, seven from Ronelli. Harris had 34 assists.

The Monarchs next play on Wednesday when they host St. Andrews at 6:00 pm in their first home match of the season.
