FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist volleyball team hit .255 as a team and came up with 11 total blocks in posting a 3-1 win over Salem on Tuesday evening at the Riddle Center.

The Spirits (12-8, 5-4 USA South) took the first set, 25-17, before the Monarchs (14-8, 5-4) reeled off 25-16, 25-21, 25-14 wins to avenge a loss to the Spirits earlier this season. Methodist notched 52 kills against just 17 errors for the match, while the Spirits had 42 kills against 24 errors.

Cassidy Hayes led the Monarchs with 16 kills and hit .359, while
Brittany Ter Meer hit .385 with 13 kills. Ter Meer also added six total blocks, including three solo efforts.
Ashley Beardsley chipped in 10 kills.
Maggie Harris directed the efficient offensive attack with 45 assists while adding 13 digs.

Annabelle Ronelli had a match-high 16 digs and
Megan Andrews chipped in 11.
Alyssa Coffey had four of MU's six service aces.

For Salem, Kyle Taffer led the way with 11 kills, while Cameron Sloop and Taylor Moulton had nine apiece. Lauren Holman had 18 assists, and Hannah Delcamp added 13. Moulton also had a team-best 12 digs, and Maggie Hawks notched 10.

Methodist, which has now won six of its last nine matches, returns to action on Saturday against Averett beginning at 2 pm in Raleigh, N.C.
