RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Methodist volleyball team wrapped up its regular season by splitting a pair of matches at Meredith on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs opened with a 3-1 win over Ferrum before falling to Meredith, 3-2.

With the split, MU wraps up the regular season at 17-12 overall and 8-8 in league play. The Monarchs dispatched Ferrum, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-15 and fell to the Avenging Angels 25-13, 18-25, 27-29, 25-21, 15-10.

Methodist received 15 kills from
Cassidy Hayes and 12 kills from
Brittany Ter Meer and the duo hit .361 and .409, respectively, to pace the Monarchs' offense.
Chyenne Pump and
Sam Spooner had eight and seven kills, respectively.
Lili Henry added a career-high 26 assists, while
Maggie Harris chipped in 19.

Hayes also posted five service aces, and Henry had four for the Green and Gold.
Annabelle Ronelli led MU with 20 digs, while Pump had 15,
Megan Andrews added 13 and Henry registered 11.

Cheyenne Strickland led the Panthers with 13 kills, Camryn Holt added 33 assists and Summer Smart contributed 20 digs.

Against the Avenging Angels, Hayes and
Ashley Beardsley each had 14 kills - combining for 28 of MU's 41 in the match. Harris had 36 assists and 10 digs for a double-double. Ronelli led the defense with 24 digs, and Andrews chipped in 17.
Kaeli Ryan and
Jasmine Tapscott each had four block assists.

Caroline Corey posted 25 kills for Meredith, and Alex Hafliger totaled 14 kills and seven total blocks. Hannah Blaylock racked up 52 assists, and Katie Keen led the way with 16 digs.

The Monarchs will now begin play in the USA South Conference Tournament next Tuesday against Salem beginning at 5 pm.
