MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- The Methodist men's soccer team fell to Maryville in overtime, 1-0, in USA South play on Saturday evening.

With the result, the Monarchs are now 8-4-1 on the season with a 4-2 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Scots improve to 11-1-0 overall and sit at 6-0 in league action.

The two sides combined for eight shots in the first half, but neither side was able to find the back of the net as the contest went into halftime scoreless. The same was true in the second half as the game was sent into overtime.

Just 31 seconds into the overtime period, Cody VanKerschaever took a pass from Johnny Rakhmonberdiev to notch the game-winning goal as the Scots won the contest, 1-0.

Jonathan Moore matched a career high with eight saves, while Ryan Jorgensen stopped the only shot on goal that he faced.

Maryville outshot MU by a 14-5 margin and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
