FERRUM, Va. -- The Methodist volleyball team split a pair of matches at a USA South tri-match on Saturday afternoon at Ferrum College.

The Monarchs (11-8, 4-4 USA South) picked up a 3-1 win (25-16, 26-24, 26-28, 25-22) over Ferrum to begin play followed by a 3-2 loss (15-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-13, 15-12) to Meredith to close out play.

Cassidy Hayes and
Brittany Ter Meer each had 15 kills to pace the Monarchs' offense.
Chyenne Pump added seven, and
Megan Andrews and
Jasmine Tapscott had six each.
Maggie Harris le MU with 29 assists while
Lili Henry chipped in 20 to go with four service aces.

Methodist racked up 16 block assists, with Tapscott, Ter Meer and Hayes contributing four each.
Annabelle Ronelli had 27 digs, Pump 20, Harris 15 and Andrews 12.

Cheyenne Strickland led the Panthers with 21 assists, 16 kills and 15 digs, while Layura Henley added 10 kills. Camryn Holt added 21 assists.

Hayes led the offense in the loss to the Avenging Angels, tallying 14 assists, while adding four blocks. Ter Meer had nine kills and five blocks. Andrews added 12 digs, with Ronelli and Pump contributing 11 apiece. Pump also had four service aces and Ronelli had three.

Caroline Corey led Meredith with 21 kills and Hannah Blaylock had 47 assists.

Methodist will play host to Salem on Tuesday beginning at 7 pm.
