FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Methodist women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday, dropping its first contest to #15 Mary Washington, 8-1, before collecting a 6-3 win against Salisbury.

The Monarchs (2-2) opened the day against the Eagles by dropping all three doubles matchups. In singles action,
Jenna Landis got the only victory in the match against Caroline Mosberg 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 at the second position to give the final score of 8-1.

In the second match of the day, MU took two in doubles play against the Seagulls.
Ashton Walker and
Davi Barbour defeated Claudia Lohn and Taylor Cooper 8-3 at second doubles before
Riley Zopp and
Audrey Greeson recorded a 9-7 win against Jordan Schaefer and Sage Cole at the third position.

Walker started singles play with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win against Julia Kwedi at the first slow, while
Sam Munze registered a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win at fourth singles against Cooper.
Han Le defeated Cole at fifth position 6-1, 6-0 before
Allison Himes finished the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Schaefer to complete the victory.
