FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Methodist's women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win over Franklin & Marshall on Sunday afternoon at Mary Washington.
 
The Monarchs (3-2) opened competition by sweeping all three doubles matches for an early 3-0 lead. Sam Munze and Jenna Landis knocked off Allison Wolters and Nicole Russo, 9-7, and Ashton Walker and Davi Barbour won an 8-5 decision at No. 2 over Sarah Haas and Caitlin Rummelsburg. Riley Zopp and Audrey Greeson completed the sweep at No. 3 with an 8-4 win over Gavriel Rubenstein and Allysan Breece.
 
In singles, the Diplomats (1-2) recorded win at Nos. 1, 2, and 3, but the Monarchs swept the final three flights to secure the win.
 
Barbour won over Rummelsburg at No. 4, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7), and Zopp secured a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rubenstein at No. 5. Allison Himes picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over Alexandra Collins at No. 6.
 
The Monarchs return to play on Saturday when it hosts Guilford at 1:00 pm.
