WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Methodist women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory at Salem on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Monarchs improve to 5-2 during the spring season and have now won four-straight matches. Meanwhile, Salem drops to 2-2 overall.

In doubles play, the Monarchs swept all three matches, including the team of
Sam Munze and
Jenna Landis shutting out Ashley Koehler and Makenna Mason, 8-0. Also in doubles,
Vatrice Williams and
Audrey Greeson defeated DeAnna Wilkins and Grace Wilson, 8-1 at the second slot, and
Kaitlyn Martin and
Abigail Weisler held off Lindsay Young and Carmen Wilkins, 8-6, in the third position.

The Monarchs also swept all six singles matches highlighted by Walker and
Allison Himes each winning via 6-0, 6-0 scores at the first and fourth slot, respectively. Landis earned a win over Mason 6-2, 6-0 at the second position, while
Davi Barbour defeated Koehler 6-2, 6-0 at third singles.
Aly Andrews dropped Lindsay Young 6-1, 6-2, as
Sam Carr completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Wilkins.

Methodist returns to action on March 6, with matches against Oglethorpe and Morningside in Orlando, Fla. beginning at 9 am.
