FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist women's tennis team opened USA South play and captured a 9-0 victory against Greensboro on Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, the Monarchs improve to 8-6 on the season and pick up their first conference win of the year. Meanwhile, the Pride drop to 0-11 overall with a 0-2 mark in league action.

In doubles play, MU did not lose a single game. The tandem of
Ashton Walker and
Davi Barbour defeated Caroline Price and Ellis 8-0 in the second position, while
Jenna Landis and
Sam Munze also picked up an 8-0 win against Sarah Drummond and Rachael Hamilton at first doubles.
Riley Zopp and
Audrey Greeson recorded a win by default at the third slot.

The Monarchs dominated singles action as well. All five singles matches were played to a 6-0, 6-0 final as Walker, Landis, Munze, Barbour and Zopp each registered singles wins.
Allison Himes was slotted at sixth singles and got a win by default.
