RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Methodist women's tennis team remained undefeated in conference play after picking up a 9-0 win at Meredith on Thursday evening.

With the results, the Monarchs are now 11-6 overall with a 4-0 mark in conference action. Meanwhile, the Avenging Angels drop to 1-11 with a 1-2 record in league play.

MU took all three doubles matches to begin the day.
Riley Zopp and
Audrey Greeson picked up an 8-1 win against Alice Cox and Kassidy Pitchford at the third slot, while
Ashton Walker and
Davi Barbour claimed their fourth straight win against Gillian Emerson and Emily Wilkinson, 8-0, at second doubles. The team of
Jenna Landis and
Sam Munze, who entered the Atlantic South regional rankings as the No. 14 team, recorded their fourth consecutive doubles win at the first slot against Cailin Goff and Jacqueline Benton, 8-3.

In singles play, the Monarchs tallied a sweep on their way to the victory. Zopp started with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the first slot against Wilkinson, while Munze claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win against Benton at the three spot. Landis dropped Emerson 6-1, 6-0 at the second position before Barbour defeated Sandra Taranhike 6-1, 6-3 at fourth doubles.
Allison Himes claimed her team-best 16th singles win of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Alice Cox Horton at the sixth slot while Walker finished the day with a 6-4, 6-4 win against Goff.
