FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist women's tennis team defeated Ferrum 9-0 during Senior Day on Saturday.
With the win, the Monarchs are now 12-6 with a 5-0 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Panthers fall to 3-8 overall behind a 2-4 record in league action.
In doubles, MU the team of
Jenna Landis and
Sam Munze earned an 8-0 victory against Morgan Scott and Autum Murray-Burns, while
Ashton Walker and
Davi Barbour teamed to drop Hailee Green and Vicki Meza, 8-0.
Walker opened singles action with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Scott at the first position, while Landis dropped Murray-Burns 6-0, 6-0 at the second slot. Munze defeated Green 6-0, 6-0 on her Senior Day as she now sits tied for 11th in program history with 52 career singles victories. She also currently ranks 15th all-time in Methodist history with 51 doubles wins. Barbour raced past Hawkins 6-0, 6-0, while
Riley Zopp finished the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Meza.
Methodist returns to action April 5 against William Peace beginning at 3 pm.
