FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist women's tennis team completed the third and final day of the MU Invitational on Sunday.
All six singles flights were completed after a majority of the matches occurred on Saturday afternoon.
In flight #1,
Jenna Landis defeated Juliana Batah of Pfeiffer, 6-0, 6-2, to claim the consolation title for the draw.
Ashton Walker was also in action on Sunday, but fell 6-1, 6-1 to Heidi Sarkkinen of Averett in the flight's third-place match.
Davi Barbour completed her weekend by winning the No. 2 flight after defeating Anna Branson of Pfeiffer by a 6-3, 6-3 count.
Riley Zopp also won in the draw taking a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Ally Delaney, of Pfeiffer, in the third-place match.
In the third flight,
Allison Himes tallied a 6-0, 6-0 win against Sydney Honeycutt of Pfeiffer to take the consolation title.
Laura Brown battled teammate
Hannah Abrahamson in the finals of the No. 4flight, 4-6, 6-1, 10-2, while
Han Le defeated Elizabeth Johnson of Meredith to win third place in the No. 4 singles flight. She tallied a 6-1, 6-4 victory to finish off her weekend, as MU took the top three places in the flight.
Aly Andrews also battled a teammate in the finals of the No. 5 flight. She defeated
Abby Siracusa 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to claim the draw. In the final singles flight of the weekend,
Audrey Greeson lost in the No. 6 finals, 7-5, 6-3 to Natalie Collins of Meredith, after winning both matches yesterday without surrendering a game.
Casey Carroll was also in action falling to Logan King of Meredith in the third-place match.
Methodist returns to action next weekend on Sept. 23 at the Chowan Invitational.
