With the loss, the Monarchs move to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play. The Pride, which is the first-place team in the East, moves to 7-4-0 on the season and 5-1-0 in league action.

The first half was evenly matched for the first 40 minutes until the Pride got on the board with a free kick that beat the keeper top right by Jordy Briceno, 1-0. MU was held to one shot in the period as GC held the lead into halftime.

In the second half, GC extended its lead when Gerardo Peraza fired a corner kick into the box and found Darli Mihindou at the 50:31 mark. The Monarchs cut the lead in half in the 61st minute when
Zvi Ferrari notched his fifth goal of the season, 2-1. Minutes later, Peraza scored to give the Pride a 3-1 lead. The score held until the 86th minute as a diving Pride defender headed in an own goal, 4-2.

Jonathan Moore made four saves in the loss, while Caelan Kohut stopped three shots.

Greensboro outshot MU 13-11 and held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

Methodist returns to action tomorrow against Ferrum at 6 pm.
