Box Score 2 FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Methodist women's tennis team split a pair of matches at the Eagle Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

The Monarchs began the day with an 8-1 win against Franklin & Marshall before falling to the No. 15 team in the nation, Mary Washington, who hosted the event, 7-2.

To start the day against the Diplomats, MU took two of three doubles matches. The team of
Jenna Landis and
Audrey Greeson defeated Gavriel Rubenstein and Alex Collins, 8-4, at the second slot and the pairing of
Allison Himes and
Taylor Jackson dropped Emma Wu and Alex D'Angelo, 8-4, in the third position.

Landis earned a 6-3, 6-2 win against Allison Wlters at first singles, while
Davi Barbour fought for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 win at the second slot.
Ashton Walker defeated Rubenstein 6-3, 6-0 at third singles and
Laura Brown moved past Wu 2-6, 7-6, 10-8 in the fourth slot.
Riley Zopp defeated Collins 6-3, 6-2 and
Han Le closed out singles with a 6-4, 6-3 decision against D'Angelo.

In the second match of the day against UMW, the team of Landis and Le moved by Sara Fioretti and Hannah Jabusch, 8-5, at the second doubles position. Landis also picked up the other win for the Monarchs at first singles against the eighth-ranked singles player in the nation, Rachel Summers. Landis won the first set before taking a retirement victory
