- Each successive set, however, Methodist built on early cushions to increase its eventual winning margin.
- Limiting MBU to an attack percentage of just .159 was just one part of the match win. The Monarchs ended the match hitting .374 -- led by Andrews' .480 clip – themselves, and dropped in eight service aces (without allowing any).
- The Monarchs also finished the match winning 78% of the sideout points, compared to under 50% for the Squirrels.
- Mary Baldwin came up with a 42-39 edge in digs, but Methodist's well-placed attacks left the Squirrels scrambling for second touches and subsequent attacks throughout the match.
- In the day's opener, Methodist had a 53-48 defensive advantage in digs, only allowed three service aces and won 58% of its sideout points. However, the Avenging Angels knocked down 40 kills, hit .257 for the match, and finished with a 6.0-1.0 bulge in blocking.
- Setter Lili Henry posted a match-high 18 assists against Meredith, and her 22 assists against Mary Baldwin tied the Squirrels' Emma Tomlinson for match-best honors.
