HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lawson Lamm was very close to putting the Monarchs on the scoreboard first with a well-placed shot on a free kick in the 11th minute. Paul Lemay earned the save on the play and the Scots were able to somehow miraculously clear the rebound out of their box. Lemay did not earn a second save but he should have after deflecting the rebound away from Hudson Zeisman's feet, stopping what would have been a sure goal.
- Mercer Stout made Methodist pay for the missed opportunity, scoring the first goal of the game in the 12th minute and returning with a second goal in the very next minute to give the Scots an early 2-0 lead.
- Austin Berry scored the third goal in the 25th minute. Cole Hupp earned the save on a Parker Owen shot but Berry recovered the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net.
- The Scots tacked on three more goals in the second half.
