FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist and William Peace University needed overtime to determine a winner Saturday evening, and the visiting Pacers won in the first overtime period, 2-1, in USA South Athletic Conference men's soccer action.
After the Pacers scored in the 62nd minute,
Hudson Zeisman found
Brandon Cohen for the game's equalizer in the 79th minute. It was Zeisman's second career assist and Cohen's first collegiate score. In overtime, Rush Campbell won the game for William Peace with the golden goal.

MATCH NOTES
- Brandon Cohen's goal was an equalizer that came in the 79th minute. Declan Cutler set up the score by making a solid tackle and winning possession in the Pacers' defensive third. On the left wing, Cutler backtapped the ball to Hudson Zeisman, who sent an arching cross to Cohen. Cohen won the ball over two defenders and then placed the ball in the back of the net for the Monarchs.
- Collin Hinnant almost ended the game in regulation with 30 seconds left. From the left wing, Hinnant's shot veered past the Pacers' keeper but struck the goalpost and caromed into the goalie's hands before any more damage could be dealt.
- The game ended on a header from Campbell in the 96th minute. The 6'0" Campbell beat everyone to the skies and headed in the goal following a corner from Jorge Aguilar.
- Aguilar also earned the assist on the Pacers' goal in regulation. Aguilar passed to Jorge Lemus and from a few yards outside the box, Lemus beat Hupp to the low right corner for the score.
- Cole Hupp had previously won the mano-y-mano battle with Lemus. In the 60th minute, a Methodist handball awarded William Peace with a penalty kick. Hupp earned the save with his body and recovered in time to earn the second save on the rebound shot attempts.
- In the first half, the Pacers logged eight shot attempts, some seemingly threatening but none were on target. In total, William Peace had 22 shots but only six on goal. Methodist was much more efficient with eight shots taken and seven on frame.
