HOW IT HAPPENED

- Methodist responded to the four-spot in the third by the Battling Bishops, getting one run back in the top of the fourth on a Jacob Austin RBI-single to center field that plated Zachary Ritter.
- N.C. Wesleyan would post up another four-run frame in the fifth, then survived a two-run sixth from the Monarchs by scoring two in its half of the seventh and tacking on one more in the bottom of the eighth.
