SAVANNAH, Ga. Day 1 of The Savannah Invitational's two rounds are complete, with Methodist men's golf in second place on the team leaderboard at 1-over par and a pair of freshmen leading the way in the top 10 of the individual scores.
Guilford College sits atop the leaderboard at 2-under but their second round was unable to be completed because of darkness.

DAY 1 NOTES
- The field of 16 teams and 80 golfers was scheduled to complete two rounds on Monday, with a single round of 18 concluding the Invitational on Tuesday.
- Monarch freshman Cooper Hrabak and Joseph Pritchard are tied for eighth place at 1-under par. Hrabak (72-71—143) carded birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 7 and 11 -- in both rounds Monday. Pritchard (70-73—143) collected birdies on Nos. 4, 11 and 16 in his opening round, then on Nos. 9 and 14 in the second.
- Pritchard's 26 pars are tied for the most in the field.
- Lurking just outside of the top 10 is Andre Chi (T-12th; 74-70—144, Even). Chi's nine birdies on the day are tied for the most within the field of 80 players. He knocked down five birdies in Round 1 before adding four more in Round 2.
- Within the top 25 on the individual leaderboard are seniors Henry Angier and Zane Brownrigg, tied for 23rd place.
- Angier (75-73—148, +4) was steadier in his second round Monday, playing through a bit of a roller-coaster opening round that included four birdies but five bogeys. Round 2 saw nearly twice as many (13) par putts drained. Meanwhile, Brownrigg collected five birdies over the two rounds.
THE FIELD
- Methodist is ranked No. 5 in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America poll.
- Ranked teams joining the Monarchs in Savannah are No. 2 Huntingdon College, No. 6 Hampden-Sydney College, No. 7 Piedmont, No. 8 Guilford, No. 11 Greensboro College and No. 16 Oglethorpe (Ga.) University.
