FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist men's soccer lose to visiting Berry College, in a non-conference match, 3-1 this afternoon at Duggins Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Daniel Magen. A cross from the near side into the box originally found Charlie Teachey, with a header. The shot hit the crossbar before bouncing off to Magen, who kicked into the back of the net.
- Less than a minute later, the Vikings scored the equalizer. A cross from Nathan Carlson connected with a streaking Mason Hemstreet, who tapped the ball into the bottom left of the goal.
- Berry would score the eventual game-winner in the 50th minute. JP Phillips received a pass from Carlson, at the top of the box. Phillips than curled his shot past the out-stretched Monarch's keeper Cole Hupp into the top left of the net.
- The Vikings added an insurance goal by Dylan Bloch, to make it 3-1.
NUMBERS
- Though both sides were even 10 shots apiece, Berry edged out Methodist for shots on goal 6-3.
- The Vikings were very aggressive on the pitch as they accumulated more fouls, 12-5, than the Monarchs.
- Methodist slightly registered one more save over Berry, 3-2.
