FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist men's soccer played host to Brevard College in this USA South Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. Despite being down at one point, the Monarchs would pull out a 2-1 victory over the Tornadoes at Duggins Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Luis dos Santos got Brevard on the scoreboard first in the 20th minute. He received a pass from Filipe Tchoulkov before putting it in the net to make it 1-0.
- With just 30 seconds until the midway point, Jayse Gleeson tallied the equalizer for Methodist.
- David Ospina put the Monarchs out front, 2-1, in the 72nd minute of the match.
STAT FACTS
- The Tornadoes actually outshot Methodist in both total shots (15 to eight) and shots on goal (six to four).
- Possession also favored Brevard with their 12 corner kicks throughout the contest. The Monarchs were not that far behind with their nine corners.
- Charlie Teachey led the Methodist squad with four shots, which was also tied for game-high.
- For both Gleeson and Ospina, these were their first career collegiate goals.
