HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the only set win against the Knights, Methodist looked to have SVU on the ropes as the Monarchs were up 14-7. The Knights would get back to a three-point difference before Methodist made it 20-13. The best SVU could do for the rest of this game with make it a five-point difference in the final score.
- The Knights turned the tides on the Monarchs in game number two, starting off with a 13-7 advantage. Methodist tallied the next four points to get the team back in this one but SVU started to pour it on to make it an eight-point difference, 20-12. The outscored the Monarchs five to four during the final nine total points registered.
- Set three witnessed Methodist have a 7-3 lead early in this one. The Monarchs tried to maintain the score but the Knights made it a brand-new game when they tied it 15-15. From there SVU rolled with that momentum all the way in taking a 2-1 set lead.
- Game number four of the match saw the Knights jump out to a 6-1 lead. Methodist brought it back to within a couple of points until SVU had some mini runs, to make it 17-10. That gap difference proved to be too much for the Monarchs to come back from, as the Knights were victorious in the match.
- The first game of the Brevard vs. Methodist match was a back-and-forth affair. The Monarchs used a 4-0 run to go up 15-12 at one point but the Tornadoes found a way to knot it back up at 16 all. The teams continued to exchange points until a final push by Brevard at the end would clinch the set.
- It looked bleak in the second set for Methodist, as the team found themselves in a 12-3 hole. The Monarchs though clawed their way out and even used a 6-0 run to tie the game up at 18-18. It still was too much for Methodist to overcome as the Tornadoes still managed to win game two.
- The third set between Brevard and the Monarchs almost mirrored each other, in terms of the scoring. One side went on a mini run before the other side would do the same thing. This continued for this entire game until Methodist recorded back-to-back points to win the set.
- The Monarchs were down early in game number four before swing it in their favor, with a 5-0 run. Brevard took back the lead one other time but it was short lived. Three separate four or more point runs down the stretch helped Methodist prevail in tying the match at two games apiece.
- An early 5-0 run by Methodist put the team up 6-3 to start off the final set. The Tornadoes would register five straight points themselves to put them back out in front 8-6. The Monarchs tried to keep it close for a counter attack the rest of the way but were unable to before Brevard took the match.

- Geneva Barriger led the Monarchs with a total of 29 kills, with 21 of them coming against the Tornadoes. Right behind her was Jeanana Fowler (28) and just like Barriger majority of Fowler's kills came against Brevard, 19.
