FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist's men's lacrosse team beat the visiting Eagles of Husson University (ME) by a score of 18-10 on Saturday afternoon at Monarch Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist started the game on a hot streak, scoring seven goals in the first quarter. The goals were distributed between multiple Monarchs with Carter Favreau tallying the first points, as Aiden Foster and Hunter Vaughan each ended the quarter with two goals.
- Matt Pemberton scored Methodist's eighth goal early in the second quarter before Husson calculated their first. The Eagles started to get the ball rolling for their team but the Monarch's kept pushing, ending the first half with an 11-4 lead.
- Methodist's offense remained steady in the third quarter, as Ryan Kavounis maneuvered his way around defenders to score two of the Monarchs' three goals for the quarter.
- The fourth quarter saw some new names on the board. Kit Allman found Matt Bentz cutting across to score his first goal of the season. With just under five minutes to go in the game, Nate Moore also tallied his first goal of the season. Minutes later, Allman scored Methodist's final goal from an assist by Favreau in man-up, ending the game with a win, 18-10.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Vaughan led the team in goals with three for the game, followed by six Monarchs with two. Favreau led the team in points with four, from two goals and two assists.
- Tyler Bennett led the team with six ground balls, followed by Elijah Towne with four.
- Methodist only took four more shots than Husson but was able to convert on 18 of the 41 shot attempts.
- Husson committed more turnovers than Methodist, as the Monarchs caused 11 of the Eagles 18 turnovers.
