GREENSBORO, N.C. Methodist men's lacrosse could respond to Greensboro College third quarter attack during their 15-9 loss on Friday afternoon at Pride Field, in USA South Athletic Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED.
- Just 15 seconds into the game, the Pride found themselves up early and would eventually take a 2-0 advantage with another goal at the 7:23 mark of the first quarter. Freshman Cy Horner got the first goal for the Monarchs, and he scored once again to knot it up before the end of the first.
- Greensboro regained another two-goal lead, 4-2, about midway through the second frame when Ryan Kavounis found the back of the net to get Methodist within one. While down a man, the Monarchs were able to tie the game again thanks to a goal by Hunter Vaughan but the Pride still took a one goal lead into the break, after scoring with less than a minute left.
- The Pride came out clicking on all cylinders to start the third period as they added six goals to their total, in the first six minutes, to push it to 11-4. The final four minutes saw Methodist score three goals and Greensboro one, with Jesse Leyble contributing on all three (2G & 1A). Kit Allman had the other Monarch goal in the third.
- Allman and Horner each tallied one final goal during the fourth stanza for Methodist while the Pride tacked on three more.
MORE NUMBERS.
- Both teams had plenty of chances to score in this game as combine total of 94 shots were taken, 48 by the Monarchs & 46 by Greensboro. It came down to saves as the Pride goalie made 22 stops compared to Methodist's 12.
- A highly penalized affair as 20 penalties were called, 11 on the Monarchs & nine for Greensboro.
- Possession looked to be in favor of Greensboro as they won 16 of the 24 face-offs this afternoon.
