FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist men's lacrosse had a difficult time getting anything on offense going during the second half of Wednesday's USA South Athletic Conference game against Pfeiffer University, as it resulted in a 12-3 defeat at Monarch Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED.
- The Falcons attack was ferocious on the Monarchs defense from the start but Cameron Brink was up to the challenge as he made eight saves in the first seven minutes of action. Pfeiffer was able to get one Brink eventually at the 7:26 mark than three minutes score once more to go up 2-0, at the end of the quarter.
- After the Falcons scored a third goal, a Carter Favreau pass to Aiden Foster, with the one timer, got Methodist on the board followed by a Hunter Vaughan goal just 30 seconds later. Pfeiffer made it a two-goal difference again with 3:40 left until halftime but Patrick Rowell brought the Monarchs back to within one, after getting the ball on Methodist's defense side and ran it right down the field to the net and bounced the shot past the keeper to make it 4-3 at the break.
- The third and fourth periods was all Falcons in this game as they scored four goals in each. The Monarchs had a hard time maintaining possession for these last two stanzas with the team turning the ball over more than shots, 12 to 11.

- For Rowell, his goal in the second quarter was the first one of his collegiate career.
- Pfeiffer dominated the game in multiple categories including shots (59 to 22), shots on goal (36 to 11), ground balls (51 to 26), and face offs (15 to 4).
- Brink made a career-high 24 saves in the game
