FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist men's lacrosse had a difficult time slowing down the offense of the undefeated USA South opponent Southern Virginia University on Saturday as the Knights took home the 24-11 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED.
- The Knights offense was in full force from the jump, as the team scored the first goal of the game within a minute of the initial face-off.
- After taking a 2-0 lead, Jesse Leyble found Cy Horner for the Monarchs first goal. After a two goal switch off, Southern Virginia led 3-2 before going on an 8-1 run before the end of the first quarter.
- In the second quarter, Methodist closed the gap to four after Ryan Kavounis put on to the back of the net to make it 9-5 Knights.
- After being down 13-5 at the half, the second half did not turn in the Monarchs favor as Southern Virginia keep a steady pace on offense to score 11 more goals to Methodist's six.

- Southern Virginia (63) almost doubled Methodist (36) in shot attempts as Matthew Liquori accumulated 19 saves for the day.
- The Knights also recorded 23 face-off wins to the Monarchs 16, to go along with 55 ground balls to Methodist's 35.
- Leyble led the team with four goals and Tyler Bennett led the team with seven ground balls.
- For the Knights, Tennison Schmidt and Gabe King led their team with five goals.
