CARY, N.C. Methodist University men's soccer took part in a road USA South Athletic Conference match against William Peace University on Tuesday night. In a tight contest, the Monarchs lost 1-0 to the Pacers at WakeMed Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first 45 minutes saw Methodist use its speed to get the upper hand in the possession battle. The applied pressure by the Monarchs allowed them to attempt four corner kicks.
- By the time intermission was reached both sides had registered two shots on goal, though the Pacers held a five to four shot advantage over the Monarchs.
- In the 75th minute of the second half, William Peace scored its necessary goal to take the match. Following a Pacers corner kick, the ball got knocked around a few time before Jose Martinez kicked his one timer into the net.
NUMBERS
- Senior forward Hudson Zeisman led the Methodist offense with three shots, one of which was on target.
- Rookie goalkeeper Trey Gohr matched his season-high in saves, five, while allowing just his second goal of the year.
- A highly physical contest with each team being charged with 12 fouls.
