DAY 1 NOTES
  • Sitting in a tie for third is Chase Walts following a one-over 73 in the opening round of the event. Two birdies and bogeys each kept him even heading toward the back nine. A birdie on hole 13 put one-under but he would make bogey on two of the next three holes after that.
  • Currently in a nine-way tie for 10th place was both Cooper Hrabak and Aiden Spampinato, both shot a three-over 75. Just like Walts, Hrabak would also go even through his first nine holes -- two birdies and two bogeys -- before bogeying three time on the back nine.
  • A bogey on hole 2 & a double bogey on 7 put Spampinato up three but he finished the front nine with a birdie for two-over. He added one more stroke to his total, three-over, after making three bogeys to two birdies on his last nine.
  • Cameron Cappuzzo shot a five-over 77 by the time he wrapped up his first go around the course, and in a tie for 26th overall. He bogeyed his second hole of the day but countered that with a birdie on his very next hole. From there he made five additional bogeys through the remaining 15 holes.
  • In a tie for 34th, Jonny Lewis carded a six-over 78 after the first day. He made four bogeys on the front half of the course before recording three additional bogeys on holes 12, 16, & 17. He would end his round on a high note by shooting birdie on his final hole.
