JACKSONVILLE, N.C.  Methodist University men's golf, No. 3 ranked team, played its second round of the 50th Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Saturday. The Monarchs faltered some and dropped down to fourth place after scoring a 14-over par 302 on day two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • All Methodist golfers began on the back half of the course, on the second day of the event.
  • With his slight trip up of two-over par 74, Jonny Lewis (69-74—143, -1) moved down one spot into in a tie for third place. He birdied and then bogeyed on his first two holes before getting into trouble from holes 15-17, where he double bogeyed and bogeyed twice. After that he was able to figure out his swing and chipped in two more birdies.
  • Aiden Spampinato (70-76—146, +2) scored a four-over par 76 his second time around, which caused him to fall in the player standing from third to a tie for sixth place. On the back, he made four bogeys to two birdies and the front saw him make three bogeys to one birdie.
  • The last three Monarchs of Cooper Hrabak, David D'Agostino, and Cameron Cappuzzo are all in a tie for 21st place with several other golfers. Both Hrabak (74-76—150, +6) and D'Agostino (74-76—150, +6) once again finished with the same round score, this time with a four-over par 76.
  • Cappuzzo (72-78—150, +6) was a little off his game on day two with a score of six-over par 78. He bogeyed six time, double bogeyed once, and birdied twice.
