SPARTANBURG, S.C. With a strong showing on day two, the Methodist men's golf team continued to extend its lead over the competition in the 2023 USA South Athletic Conference Championship. The Monarchs showed vast improvement from the first round, posting a four-under par team score on Tuesday to give them a 25-stroke advantage over the next best team.

Cameron Cappuzzo improved by seven strokes from round one to round two, allowing him to maintain his position atop the player standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cappuzzo posted the best round of the day for the second day in a row, shooting a five-under par. He totaled seven birdies in the round with just two bogeys, and now sits at three-under par for the tournament with a seven-stroke lead.
- David D'Agostino had the next best round for the Monarchs on Tuesday, posting a two-under par to ascend five spots up the leaderboard. He recorded six birdies on the day with two bogeys and one double bogey, topping his first-round performance by a team-high eight strokes. He is now tied for second place at four-over par.
- Aiden Spampinato wrapped up the day with birdies on two of his final three holes to finish one-over par for the round. He tallied four birdies with five bogeys, finishing three strokes better than in round one, and is now in a tie for fourth place.
- Cooper Hrabak also finished three strokes better than his round-one performance, recording a two-over par finish in round two. After a bogey on his sixth hole and double bogeys on his fourth and 11th, Hrabak sank three-straight birdies on his 12th, 13th, and 14th holes to put him at seven-over par through two days.
- Matching his round-one score, Jonny Lewis shot six-over par in round two. He birdied his second and third holes of the day but was unable to maintain that pace as the round went on, recording just one more birdie over the remaining holes. He sits just outside the top ten in 11th place with a 12-over par.
