SPARTANBURG, S.C. With a 27-stroke lead, the Methodist men's golf team was declared victorious on Wednesday when the final round of the USA South Athletic Conference Championship was cut short nine holes due to constant rain. The win marks back-to-back conference championship victories for the Monarchs and the program's 33rd USA South title.

Cameron Cappuzzo claimed the medalist honors for the second straight year, finishing atop the player leaderboard at seven-under par. He was one of three Monarchs to finish in the top five and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cappuzzo was the class of the field for the third day in a row, recording birdies on his first, sixth, eighth, and ninth holes for a four-under par total on the day. His three-day total put him 11 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
- David D'Agostino was Methodist's next highest finisher, earning All-Tournament Team recognition with a tie for third place at five-over par. He sank two birdies to make up for three bogeys, recording a one-over par finish in the final round.
- Cooper Hrabak rounded out Methodist's All-Tournament Team honorees with a tie for fifth place at eight-over par. He recorded just two bogeys on the day before notching a birdie on his final hole to secure his spot in the top five.
- Aiden Spampinato earned a seventh-place tie with a nine-over par for his tournament total. He recorded two birdies in Wednesday's nine holes on his way to a four-over par finish for the third round.
- Jonny Lewis shot a two-over par in his final round, leading him to a 12th-place finish overall. The freshman ended the tournament with a score of 14-over par.

The Monarchs will next travel to Keene Trace Resort in Nicholasville, Kentucky for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship – which will take place May 16-19 – where they look to repeat as national champions.
