 Three Methodist student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Teams selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly known as CoSIDA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
Noah Carter and
Drew Topoly of the men's team and
Courtney Drumm of the women's team were all recognized for their athletic and academic achievements.

Carter, a sophomore, competed in both cross country and track during the 2022-2023 school year. At the USA South Cross Country Championship in October, he finished 25th with a time of 30:20.0 in the men's 8k. In April, he competed at the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, participating in both the men's 5k race and the men's 10k race.

In his fourth year at Methodist, Topoly collected numerous awards during both the cross country and track seasons. He garnered a spot on the All-Conference First Team after finishing in second place at the USA South Cross Country Championship, clocking a time of 26:06.4 in the men's 8k – nearly 40 seconds faster than the third-place finisher. At the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, he earned the title of Male Track Athlete of the Year after recording first-place finishes in the men's 1,500-meter race, the men's 5k, the men's 10k and the men's 3k steeplechase. He was the only athlete to win four events at the championship meet.

Drumm, a senior, was Methodist's top performer on the women's side during the cross country season. She finished fifth at the USA South Cross Country Championship with a time of 23:34.5 in the women's 6k, earning her All-Conference First Team honors. At the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she competed in the women's 10k (fourth place), the women's 1,500-meter race (seventh place), the women's 5k (seventh place), and the women's 4 x 400-meter relay.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 28 (women) and June 29 (men).
