Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. After knocking out third-seeded North Carolina Wesleyan University and sixth-seeded Mary Baldwin University on Friday, the seventh-seeded Monarchs fell to Greensboro College on Saturday, suffering their second loss of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament. The No. 2-seeded Pride beat Methodist 7-3 to advance to next weekend's championship series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist dug a hole early, allowing Greensboro to score two runs in the first inning and two in the second inning. While the Pride scored runs, the Monarchs were unable to record a hit through the first three innings.
- In the top of the fourth, Methodist gave up two more runs as a double by the Pride scored two. In the bottom of the inning, the Monarchs provided their first answer as Haven Williams stepped into the batter's box with two outs and runners on second and third. She delivered Methodist's first hit of the game – a single to left field that scored one run, making the score 6-1.
- The Pride added one more run to their total in the top of the fifth, stringing together three-straight singles to bring one runner across home plate. When the Monarchs came up to bat in the next frame, Maria Kollar drew a leadoff walk. After Alexandra Edwards was hit by a pitch, Claire Cummings placed a ball into right field that scored Kollar and moved Edwards to second. Amanda Blackburn singled to load the bases, then Haley Fethke knocked a ball into center field to score Methodist's third run of the contest.
- Emma Neeley held the Pride to just one hit with two strikeouts over the final two innings, but the Monarchs were held hitless.
NUMBERS
- Greensboro's Alexis Sox had a stupendous day, batting 4-for-4 with one double and four of the Pride's seven RBI.
- The Monarchs were unable to defeat the Pride in four attempts this season, falling to Greensboro twice in the regular season and twice in the conference tournament.
- The Monarchs finished .500 across the board this year, totaling a 20-20 overall record, a 9-9 record against USA South opponents, a 10-10 record at home, a 7-7 record in away games, and a 3-3 record in neutral-site contests.
