FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist University head men's soccer coach
Justin Terranova has announced the program's 2023 schedule. The slate includes eight regional non-conference contests and seven USA South Athletic Conference foes.
The Monarchs have the luxury of playing their first three games on their home pitch, Duggins Soccer Stadium. Methodist plays back-to-back days starting on Saturday (9/2) against Johnson & Wales University followed by a Sunday (9/3) game versus Randolph College. A couple of days later, Ferrum College (9/6) comes out to Fayetteville to take on Methodist.
That will be the only time the Monarchs play at home in the month of September, as the team begins a lengthy road trip the weekend of the ninth. First the team heads down to Georgia and will take part in an invitational hosted by Berry College. Day one (9/9) has Methodist playing Birmingham-Southern College while the second day sees the Monarchs taking on the host Vikings (9/10).
Methodist returns back to its home state of North Carolina for its next two contests the very next weekend with match-ups against Warren Wilson College (9/15) and Guilford College (9/16). The Monarchs then head to Virginia Beach, Virginia for their final non-conference game, where they will play Regent University (9/20) for the first time in program history.
After a ten-day break from games, Methodist starts league action by heading up to Mary Baldwin University on September 30. Then the team makes their return to Duggins Stadium to host Pfeiffer University on October 7.
A quick midweek road match-up with William Peace University (10/10) is just before two consecutive homes games for the Monarchs. That upcoming weekend has Southern Virginia University (10/14) coming to Methodist before North Carolina Wesleyan University, the 2022 USA South regular season winners, visits on Wednesday the 18th.
The Monarchs travel to the western part of the state to play Brevard College, on October 21, for their final away contest on the regular season. The last game before the conference tournament for Methodist will be played at home against Greensboro College on the 28th.
