GREENSBORO, N.C. Methodist University men's soccer played its second match in as many days with another road matchup, this one versus Guilford College, on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs leave the Armfield Athletic Center after squeaking out a 1-0 win over the Quakers in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The scoreboard read 0-0 following the first 45 minutes of action. In that first half, Guilford held a nine to three shot advantage, five to zero shots on goal respectively, over Methodist.
- The first 20 minutes of the second half did not see much offense from either side. That changed in the 66th minute when Steven Floyd gave the Monarchs the lead, assisting on the play was Hudson Zeisman.
- Methodist continued to apply the pressure afterwards and generated four more shots, five to one, than the Quakers in the remaining time.
NUMBERS
- Freshman Trey Gohr was in net again for Methodist. He recorded his second solo shutout and registered a season-high five saves on his way to his second collegiate victory.
- The Monarchs just edged out Guilford on corner attempts, seven to six.
