NORFOLK, Va. Methodist University men's soccer was on the road Wednesday night to take on Regent University in a non-conference match. In the first-ever meeting between these two programs, the Monarchs took care of business to the tune of a 3-0 victory over the Royals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist recorded all three of its goals in the first half, including the Monarchs registering their first two scores within a 14 second difference.
- The opening goal for Methodist came off the foot of Joshua Mott, who received the pass from Christopher Shoffler, in the sixth minute.
- Just when play resumed following Mott's score, it was not long before Hudson Zeisman found the back of the net himself to make it 2-0 in favor of the Monarchs.
- Kaleb Thomas finished off the scoring for Methodist after he punched one in during the 21st minute.
NUMBERS
- On Hudson's and Thomas' goals, Shoffler was involved as the primary passer that led to the scores. This gave him three assists for tonight which is a new career-high.
- Starting between the pipes once again was Trey Gohr for the Monarchs and with this win he improves to 3-0-2 to start his rookie campaign.
- Methodist offense gave the Regent's keeper a workout as the team shot the ball 17 times, 11 of the shots being on net.

Methodist is now off for the next ten days before starting up USA South Athletic Conference play on Saturday September 30. The Monarchs will travel to Mary Baldwin University for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
