Methodist University Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Eavenson has announced that Angela Culver has been named Head Cheerleading Coach after serving as the team's interim head coach since January.
Â
"Angela has done an excellent job serving as our interim head coach," Eavenson said. "She has a clear and exciting vision for our cheerleading program, and we are looking forward to the future under her leadership."
Â
Under Culver's direction, four members of the Methodist cheer team were crowned Coed Stunt Division National Champions at the Christian Cheerleaders of America (CCA) Collegiate Championship in March.
Â
Culver has a wealth of experience as a cheerleading coach, including having coached within the Fayetteville community. From 2018 to 2022, she served as the head cheerleading coach at Gray's Creek High School, guiding the team to become PAC 9 Conference Cheerleading Champions in 2019 before lifting the team to an NCCCA State Championship title in 2022. She also previously coached at South View High School (2003-2005).
Â
As a national certified cheerleading judge, Culver has also dedicated time to serving as a judge at cheerleading competitions.
Â
She is supported by her husband, Rob, as well as her two children, Taylor (a student-athlete on the Methodist cheer team) and Grayson.
