Winston–Salem, N.C. Competing in their first meet of the calendar year, the Methodist men's and women's track and field teams put their best foot forward at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday.

TOP TRACK PERFORMANCES
- Tydrick Stewart recorded a sub–seven–second 60–meter dash in the men's prelims, finishing with a personal–best time of 6.98 seconds. In the 60–meter final, he took sixth place with a 7.01 mark.
- Logan Wade finished the men's 60–meter prelims in 12th with a time of 7.08 seconds.
- Wade and Stewart finished sixth and seventh respectively among the top runners in the men's 200–meter heats, posting times of 23.31 and 23.34. On the women's side, Treazure Rosario Watson was Methodist's top performer in the 200–meter, finishing in 22nd with a time of 27.77.
- In the 400–meter race, Richard Schieferstein led the way for Methodist on the men's side, finishing 19th (55.66), while Alexandria Wilborn took 19th in the women's race (1:11.82).
- Patti Busch took 11th place in the women's 600–meter race, earning a time of 1:59.46.
- In the men's 3,000–meter run, Jackson Barriger set a new personal record with a time of 9:17.31.
TOP FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Carland Jones tied for third in the men's high jump, leaping a height of 1.92 meters.
- Freshman Zyon Lewis led Methodist's throwers in the men's shot put, taking 17th place with a toss of 11.24 meters. E'Manuel Herbert was next in line, finishing 24th (10.78m).
- The Monarchs had two jumpers earn top–10s in the men's triple jump, with Jeremiah Freeman (13.49m) taking 5th and Micah McCorvey (12.99m) finishing 9th.
COACH'S NOTES
- Head Coach Brian Slater stated that he was happy with the throwing unit as a whole and proud of their progress. He also noted that the women's 4x400–meter relay team competed extremely well, finishing in a time of 4:29.85.
