BUIES CREEK, N.C. Facing its final non-conference opponent of the season, the Methodist men's soccer team traveled to Division I Campbell University on Tuesday night, where the Monarchs fell 5–0 to the Fighting Camels at Eakes Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs kept the Division I opponent at bay for much of the opening half before the Camels broke through in the 21st miute, as Skyler Wright scored the first goal of the match off assists from Xander Martin and Luc Lavielle.
- Campbell added to its lead in the closing minutes of the first half, finding the back of the net twice within a three-minute span. Jake Roberts doubled the advantage in the 39th minute, converting a set piece assisted by Ioannis Moros, before Ethan Roberts extended the margin to 3–0 with a penalty kick goal in the 42nd minute.
- The Fighting Camels kept their momentum after halftime, scoring twice more in the early stages of the second half. Kairi Saito tallied a goal in the 50th minute off a connection from Wright and Emilio Garza, then Martin capped the scoring four minutes later, converting a pass from Saito to make it 5–0.
NUMBERS
- The Camels outshot the Monarchs 22–6, including a 6–1 edge in shots on goal.
- Junior Josh Mott led the Monarchs with two total shots, while senior Harrison Broome recorded the team's lone shot on target.
- Goalkeepers Trey Gohr, a junior, and Matthew Walker, a senior, each played a half in net, with Walker collecting the team's only save.
