Monarchs Take 9th at Tartan Invitational

10/7/2025 6:30:00 PM

FARMINGTON, Pa.  Battling rainy conditions on the final day of the Tartan Invitational, the Methodist women's golf team totaled a season–low 307 to move up a spot on the team leaderboard, finishing the event in ninth place out of 15 teams. Cloe Rich led the Monarchs on Tuesday, dropping four strokes off her round one score.

FINAL ROUND
  • Rich ended the day with a career–low 74. Her day was bookended by birdies — one on Hole 11 to start the round and another on Hole 10 to finish. She was one of three Monarchs to tally four birdies during the round.
  • Three of Eva Denten's four birdies came on the 'back nine,' which were actually her first nine holes on Tuesday. Sitting even with par at the turn, she faced some challenges during the second half of her day and finished the round at five strokes over par. Her two–day score of +4 still made her Methodist's top finisher in 21st place on the individual leaderboard.
  • Three Methodist golfers all turned in a +6 during the round, including Anna Wicklum (who was competing as an individual). Wicklum was the third Monarch to birdie four times on Tuesday but felt the effects of a triple–bogey on the par–five Hole 8.
  • Megan Kestner and Paige Wilkinson both scored 39 on the front half and back half, but Hole 14 was the only hole in which both golfers faltered. Each carded one birdie while facing challenges on completely different holes. Wilkinson found success on par–three holes, earning par on all four.
  • Scoring 11 strokes over par, Jenna Rutledge improved upon her round–one performance by two strokes and met par on nine holes.
Excluding Wicklum (who competed as an individual), the Monarchs across two days shot +10 on Par 3s, +50 on Par 4s and +12 on Par 5s.
