GREENWOOD, Ind. Four members of the Methodist volleyball team have been named to the College Sports Communicators organization's 2025 Academic All-District team, which was announced on Tuesday. Senior

Savannah Hovander and
Mary Miller, and sophomore
Carlyn Tanis all represented Methodist among the list of NCAA Division III honorees.
Holton, an outside hitter, led the team in kills this past season with 387, which was an average of 3.34 per set. She also ended the season with 160 assists, which ranked second on the team. The Nags Head, North Carolina, native was also second on the team in service aces, contributing 42. Defensively, she offered 3.06 digs per set (second best on the team) along with 31 blocks, which was the team's third-highest mark. Holton notably reached her 1,000th career kill during the 2025 season and was named a USA South First Team All-Conference member for the third consecutive season.
Hovander, a middle blocker, led the team with 81 blocks in 2025, setting the fourth-best mark among USA South competitors. The Greensboro, North Carolina, native ranked third on the team in kills with 312 (good for 2.69 per set) while also providing 31 service aces, which were the fourth most by a Monarch this past season. Hovander earned Second Team All-Conference honors from the USA South.
Miller, a libero, produced a team-high 469 digs for the Monarchs this past season, averaging 4.79 per set. The Winterville, Georgia, native also led the team with 45 service aces while providing 79 assists on the season.
Tanis, an opposite hitter, was an all-around contributor for the Monarchs in 2025, finishing the season with 190 kills (1.79 per set) and 159 assists (1.50 per set). The Camden, North Carolina, native also totaled 236 digs (2.23 per set), 38 service aces and 18 blocks.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
