HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Both teams managed to score runs in the third inning, but Methodist would still claim a 2–1 lead. In the top half, the Monarchs had runners on second and third, when Blake Freeman dropped a sacrifice bunt to bring in the first run of the ballgame. Right after Freeman was Banks Hartman, who had an RBI base hit to drive in the second Methodist run.
- William Peace's lone run in the third was aided by a Monarch fielding error. After Leland Barrow reached base due to the error, a pair of Pacer singles allowed him to score.
- In the fourth inning, Adam Joseph tied the game 2–2 for William Peace. First, Alex Levesque had a base hit to get on, then a sac bunt moved him over to second. Eventually, Levesque would score on Joseph's RBI double.
- The contest remained tied for a couple of more innings before Methodist re-took the lead in the sixth. Tristen Melvin started the inning off with a leadoff single before taking second on a steal. Following a sac bunt to advance him to third, Melvin plated the third Monarch run on a single to right field by Caleb Rogers.
- Melvin was involved again the next time Methodist scored, as he registered a triple to right, scoring Hartman, who reached on a hit by pitch, from first base in the seventh inning.
- Even with the Monarchs now leading 4–2, the Pacers did not go down quietly. William Peace tied the game at 4–4 and forced extra innings, after scoring a run in the eighth and ninth innings.
- In the 11th inning, Methodist added four runs to its total to take the game 8–4. Freeman drove in two of the runs on his base hit through the left side of the infield, while Austin Rinzel and Rogers each recorded an RBI on sacrifices, fly and bunt, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Just like the first game, the Monarchs struck early and took a 3–0 lead in the second inning. Melvin, who led the inning off with a triple, scored the first Methodist run after being driven in by Rinzel. A few batters later, Rinzel crossed home on a passed ball before Rogers trotted across on a sac fly by Ethan Golemo.
- In the fourth inning, an additional Banks Engle sac fly gave the Monarchs a 4–0 edge.
- William Peace then made it a one-run ballgame, 4–3, after scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Aaron Kimbel scored first on a passed ball, then Gavin Turner drove in the second Pacers' run on a hit to left field. Nick Tubolino allowed the third run to cross home, as he drew a walk.
- The score remained the same until the eighth inning when Methodist scored another run. A walk, single, and a hit by pitch, loaded the bases for the Monarchs when Golemo stepped up to the plate, with one out. For a second time today, Golemo registered a sacrifice hit, which put Methodist up by two, 5–3.
- The Monarchs would add insurance runs in the ninth inning, as they scored four times. An RBI was recorded by Melvin, Rogers, and Engle while the last Methodist run scored on a wild pitch.
- In the bottom of the ninth, William Peace had bases loaded with no outs, when Tubolino drew his second walk of the game, making the score 9–4. Then, the Monarch's pitcher, Brice Herring, buckled down and got the next three Pacer batters out, including two strikeouts, to seal Methodist's win.
