LYNCHBURG, Va. Competing on the campus of the University of Lynchburg, throwers, jumpers and long–distance runners led the way for the Methodist track and field program on Friday.

TOP MEN'S PERFORMERS
- Jackson Barriger placed 12th out of 64 participants in the 1,500–meter run, posting a personal–record time of 4:09.49. Finishing in 33rd was Rafael Shilingitha with a time of season–best time of 4:21.60.
- Joseph Butler was the top Monarch in the javelin throw, recording a mark of 40.09 meters and claiming 12th out of 24 competitors. Tristan Bowser recorded a personal–record distance of 37.90 meters, followed closely by Komla Akogo with a mark of 37.06 meters.
- Butler also cleared a height of 3.45 meters in the high jump.
- Ke Edwards jumped 6.48 meters in the long jump, taking fifth place out of 30 jumpers. Lavon Aiken (6.20 meters) and Joshua Freeman (6.19 meters) finished 13th and 14th.
TOP WOMEN'S PERFORMERS
- Rebecca McGaughnea and Jordan Pecorella claimed 11th and 12th place out of 19 individuals in the hammer throw, recording marks of 34.86 meters and 31.73 meters respectively.
- In the javelin throw, Caidyn Barriger was the top Monarch with a mark of 22.57 meters, earning 12th place out of 19 athletes.
- Arriana White was the top Methodist finisher in the long jump, leaping 4.53 meters and capturing 15th place out of 24 competitors. Behind her was Niya Johnson, was recorded a mark of 4.12 meters.
